Here's to you Brother

“Trav,

I just wanted to say thank you for showing me how to live and love with passion.

I’ll never forget before we were brought together by baseball, I was a freshman in a boring math class with a bunch of people I didnt know, including Trav. I spent a lot of time watching him and hoping that one day we would become friends. He just had a personality that had me wanting to know more about him. While he was traveling a lot that freshman spring I never really got that opportunity. Half a year later, I finally met him and my now best friends when I joined the team. Travis and those same group of guys would become my closest friends, mentors, and would ultimately change who I was to my core. I’ve never met anyone like T. He brought out a smile that I had been hiding for days, a laugh that reached so far down I felt it in my toes, and a reassurance that everything would always be okay, no matter how terrible my day had been. He was the most trustworthy and loyal friend, yet never wanted anything in return. I told him my darkest secrets and shared with him my greatest moments. I have hundreds of Trav stories that seem to bring me out of the emptiness this last year has brought. He was my brother and taught me a lifetime’s worth in our short 5 years. I loved him and I miss him every day.

Here’s to you brother. One day we will meet again on the streets of gold. I look forward to some long toss and the latest Lululemon. Until then I’ll settle for our daily talks in the one and only two-man A-10 cockpit.
